A joined up approach

Enabl were appointed to provide planning and cost management support on the project which sought the demolition of various disused associated outbuildings and the residential re-development of the site comprising of four three storey townhouses, a three storey apartment building and the conversion of the existing building into a retail unit, alongside four apartments.

On the planning side, the planning team engaged in initial high level discussions Cheshire West and Chester Local Planning Authorities to inform the scheme. The team then provided support to the client in managing and coordinating a varied team of co-consultants providing key information to feed into the submission of the formal planning application. This included key heritage input from Adapt Heritage given a locally important building on a the site which is also located in Frodsham Conservation Area, and surrounded by a number of listed buildings, making the site sensitive from a historical standpoint. 

Enabl had the opportunity to take an in house collaborative approach to the site through providing valuable cost advice alongside the preparation of the planning application. The team developed a detailed cost plan which was presented to the design team to ensure that the budget was considered at each key stages and ensure that decisions were being made fully informed. Enabl also led the procurement of the contractor and overseen the delivery of the project during the construction stage.
