Our brief was simple. To create something unique that offers an improved home for residents through a modern forward thinking approach that will allow our client operator to differentiate themselves within the market.
This suited us to a tee.
With a considerable amount of healthcare experience within the team with our people who have acted as Developer/Contractor, Quantity Surveyor, Planner and Project Manager for a range of healthcare projects we could draw upon our experiences to ensure that we were offering advice that didn't just suit the day one aspiration, but instead had a sustainable long term sustainable approach.
Acting across the service lines allowed us to offered joined up thinking and helped with the transition through to the delivery stage.
We successfully achieved the planning consent with providers an additional 21 bedrooms and improved communal spaces such as the terrace, cinema, café, salon and kiosk which will aide memories and support community cohesion.
Joined up planning and cost management utilising our sector expertise
Our sector expertise allowed us to collaborate early with a team who are familiar with the healthcare sector looking at both planning risk and cost risk to ensure that the scheme can continue through each stage without hitting a hurdle.
Having worked on healthcare development schemes previously in the dementia care sector, we were able to contribute with ideas and offer insights into lessons learned - particularly important for a client who intends to continue to manage and operate the facility after completion.
The scheme was recommended for approval and granted permission after a unanimous vote at the planning committee. Our cost management team are proceeding with the delivery stage working through technical information ahead of a start onsite.
